The guitarist, composer, arranger, singer and producer Antonia Adnet began her music carrer very early. She won her first guitar at the age of six and participated, in her childhood, as a vocalist in the recording of several albums, such as the television show TV Colosso (Rede Globo) and artists such as Simony, Emílio Santiago, Angelica, Tateando, Rádio Maluca do Zezuca and Lisa Ono. She also featured in advertising jingles . Later, as a teenager, she took guitar and music theory lessons with teacher Celia Vaz and lead some bands, participating in festivals like FestiValda and the III MPB* Festival of the Military Club, with her own songs winning local awards.

In 2003 she was admitted in UNI-Rio (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) for bachelor’s degree in Arranging (popular music), where she took solo and 7-string guitar lessons with professor Luiz Otávio Braga and formed the group Gandharvas, to play the composer and maestro Moacir Santos’s music, under the guidance of professor Roberto Gnattali. With the help of her father, Mario Adnet, Antonia adapted some arrangements of the album Ouro Negro (production of Mario Adnet and Zé Nogueira) for the group’s formation, doing shows at the University itself, and at other venues such as Teatro do Jockey and Shopping Rio Design, this one with Moacir himself in the audience.

She was part of the nationally acclaimed singer Roberta Sá’s band between 2005 and 2012, as a guitarist and vocalist, participating in shows in Brazil and abroad. Antonia released her first album in 2010, Discreta (Biscoito Fino) followed by her scond one in 2012: Pra dizer sim (MP,B/ Universal), this one reissued in 2018 by Biscoito Fino. After two albums with her compositions, she dedicated herself to a special project with sambas from the 1930s to 50s: Tem + Boogie Woogie no Samba, her 3rd album (Biscoito Fino, 2015). These albums tours have visited cities like Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, São Carlos, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Brasília, Recife and Chile in Viña Santa Rita, Talca, Valparaíso and Santiago (Nescafé Theater).

Among her recent works as a musical direction assistant are the albums Um olhar sobre Villa-Lobos – Mario Adnet (Latin Grammy nominee in 2013), Dorival Caymmi Centenário – Dori Caymmi and Mario Adnet (Latin Grammy nominee in 2015) and Jobim Jazz ao vivo – Mario Adnet (Latin Grammy nominee in 2016). In partnership with Mario and Joana Adnet, Antonia produced the albums: Jobim, orchestra & guests – Paulo Jobim and Mario Adnet (2017), Amazonia – on the forest trail – Mario Adnet (2012) – in these two also featuring as interpreter – and the award-winning Vinicius & os maestros – Mario Adnet, best album in the special category of the Brazilian Music Award in 2013.

In 2016 she performed with the musical Gota D’Água [a seco] (nominated for the Shell 2017 Award – best music), by Chico Buarque and Paulo Pontes, in which she also participated as assistant of musical direction and guitarist, in shows all over the country. In the same year Antonia produced, alongside Rodrigo Maranhão, the debut album of the actor, singer and composer Angelo Paes Leme. At the moment she repeats the partnership with music director Pedro Luís, as assistant musical director and guitarist of the musical Elza, a tribute to Elza Soares produced by Sarau Agência de Cultura, directed by Duda Maia and with premiere scheduled for July 2018.
